Parent Workshops
There are many ways we encourage parents to come in and find out more about school. This page gives you an idea of some of what we do.
Our newsletter the Brackenbury Buzz will keep you updated on what is happening and when.
As always, if you are ever unsure about any of the learning, then please come and ask.
Phonics in Reception
In September, we have a phonics workshop for famililes in Reception. This helps you to see how we use Little Wandle to teach reading.
We also love to share fantastic story books with the children that they can borrow from the school library.
Reading
At Brackenbury, reading is at the core of what we do. We invite parents in for reading together meetings so that you can hear your child read and find out about some of our reading approaches.
Maths
At Brackenbury, we follow the maths mastery approach.
We run workshops for families so that we can share great ideas to support maths at home.
You can come with your child to do some fun maths activites together.
Sharing work
This year, we will be inviting parents in to look at our history and geography learning by sharing our golden questions. The children are rightly proud of their learning and can't wait to share it with you.

Other ways to find out more about school
Every year, we have special performances such as class assemblies, music performances, a Y6 show and Christmas events in school. This goes longside sporting events and community events such as Dance at the Dome and the Brighton Festival Children's Parade. Parents and families are invited to attend so that you can enjoy sharing in some of the magical events that happen! Watch out for the dates for any of these events.
We have a parents evening in the Autumn and Spring term where you can meet the teacher to discuss your child's progress. You will also receive an end of year report to see their achievements for the year.
