HISTORY AT BRACKENBURY
We are Historians
At Brackenbury, we strive to nurture the inquisitive nature of children and provide them with opportunities to explore inspirational history topics. We study these topics in chronological order so that by the end of primary school, children have a solid understanding of world chronology. We encourage children to critically analyse the past and relate historical events to their own lives today. Children are able to explore these ideas through a range of inspirational techniques from role-play and debates, through to delivering presentations to the class. Furthermore, children are given opportunities to go to historical sites in the local area and think about who has lived here before them. Working as historians, children will develop their historical skills as detailed here.
